Texas Venom is a Leander, Texas select softball organization fielding teams across the 10U, 12U, and 14U divisions. The organization was re-established in 2025 with a full structural overhaul — three age divisions, one governance model, one standard.
Most club programs are really just a single coach carrying everything — scheduling, finances, parent texts, hotel bookings, and lineups all running through one phone. That model produces burnout and inconsistency.
Texas Venom separates the org machine from the coaching machine. Co-Directors handle every organizational function. Head Coach Chris Balcom and staff own the field. A formal Board of Directors provides governance. The result is a program where everyone operates at full capacity in their actual role.
Mission: To develop elite young softball athletes through disciplined coaching, organized competition, and a team environment that builds confidence and love of the game — on and off the field.
We don't coach to win a banner by over-coaching a 10-year-old. We coach to build players who are still competing at 14, 16, and 18 because they were developed correctly and still love the game.

Our coaching staff is family-first by design. The org is structured to support coaches being parents first — and that philosophy carries onto the field with every player.

We compete in local, regional, and national tournaments throughout Texas and beyond. The tournament calendar is set by the Co-Directors each season in coordination with Head Coach Chris Balcom and staff, prioritizing events that maximize competitive development and reasonable family scheduling.
